Well it has been a crazy spring. Rain, Snow, Rain, Snow for 30+ days! Finally we had a break in all the mayhem and that bright bulb in the sky came out to play… When the sun is shining Mt. Hood is an amazing place to be!

Shredding.Sun.Snow….can’t honestly get much better. The smile on my face stretched from ear to ear as I strapped on my board and headed down the hill. Sun shining on my face and the lovely sound of carving fresh pow. I am truly blessed to work at Windells and have access to some of the best snowboarding terrain in the world.
This weekend was a bitter sweet season opener. They DNA FC boys played their hearts out but it just wasn’t enough to defeat the 2010 OPSL Champions. So, we will lick our wounds and continue to work out the kinks. We will not be defeated….WE ARE DNA FC!
Next Friday night, March 25th, we take on FC Swoosh Kell’s (Nike) at 7:30pm – PCC Rock Creek. For those of you that can make it out, it should be an epic battle on the pitch!
Let’s face it, growing a year older can often been a depressing thing to dwell on, so that is why I have decide to get a year younger every year! You may think this is a ridiculous notion, but really…..I am only as old as I feel, right? It is my life’s ambition to continually surround myself with “kids” as I like to call them or “youngsters” at least 10 years younger than me. It keeps me young and in touch. This year I had the opportunity to take the day and go snowboarding at Timberline on Mt. Hood. It was amazing! Fresh snow, waterproof outerwear thanks to my peeps at Bonfire Snowboarding, very few people on the runs and my awesome man…..I truly couldn’t have drawn it up any more ideal.

No I’m not the most skilled rider and no I was not doing double corks or back side nines or even hitting 45 foot booters, but that is all irrelevant. I was doing what I love and it reminded me of why I love working at Windells & Windells Academy….because I am following my passion and when you are passionate about what you do, it is not work, it is a lifestyle.
I look forward to hitting the slopes again soon and shredding the gnar in the fresh spring pow!
Today I left Portland to head out to the Windells Campus, my place of work, and it was 40 degrees and raining as usual this time of year. Little did I know that towards Mt. Hood Mother Nature had decided to puke epic amounts of snow! Here we are getting ready to start our Spring Season with our boys of DNA Futbol Club and we can’t get on the fields due to weather conditions….say what???

So I am making my daily commute from Tigard to Brightwood and as I entered Sandy, the snow began to fall….and fall….and fall…..Along the infamous Highway 26 there are cars off of the road and cemis blasting by going well over the recommended speed limit. ”Betsy”, the Land Rover, took it slow and steady, and delivered my safely to the Windells winter wonderland. Absolutely beautiful! Love the snow, don’t really love to drive in it….but it made for an exciting day and I made it safely home to the rain. Stay dry Portland!
I am excited for the Blazer game tonight as they introduce the newest edition to our team, forward, Gerald Wallace! Check out his 10 most spectacular dunks and tell me if that doesn’t get you excited about the possibilities….
It was a timely trade as those of us who are season ticket holders (4 years and counting) are wavering on renewal. Plagued with injury – Pryzbilla, Roy, Oden….need I say more….It has been tough, but R.I.P City has finally UNITED! Roy is back and the fellas are finally playing as a team. It is truly exciting basketball! There have been many skeptics doubting our GM, Cho, and rightfully so as he is determined to hold his cards close to his chest and only let the public know bits of information on his time. The timing of this decision couldn’t have come at a more crucial point in the season. It definitely hurts to loose Pryzbilla, but maybe we will get him back??? That is the crazy thing about the NBA…players are like chess pawns.
Well, tune in tonight at 7:30pm to see the Blazers take on the Hawks and hopefully there will be a bit of that magic form Friday night still lingering above the hoops!
